What You Need to do With Your Talent

What is it that you love to do? God has planted within us all unique gifts for us to utilize. These talents can range immensely, but all of them are special. These are usually the things that we find great joy and fulfillment in doing. It could be a gift of writing, teaching, playing the guitar, listening, public speaking, etc. The list is endless. It’s critical that we found our gift and express it in a way that serves others.

1 Peter 4:10 reads, “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms” (NIV). God has given us the talents that we have to serve others. God works in the world through us, His children. He wants us to reach others for the sake of the Gospel. The unique, life-giving talents that He bestows upon us allows us to fulfill this calling while also finding fulfillment ourselves.

Start with prayer. If you haven’t yet discovered your spiritual gift, ask that God would reveal it to you. Also, ask Him how and where you can best use it to further God’s Kingdom. Then, connect with your local church. See where you can utilize your gifts to help minister to others in your community. Partnering with other Christians and using your skills in tandem with one another only serves to make the body of Christ stronger. The guidance you can find through spiritual mentors will also help you to express your talents.

God wants you to use the talents that He has given you, no matter what they are. Through it, you can serve others and find fulfillment yourself. Commit to putting your talents to action today.
