The answer to this question is simple: Jesus Christ is our eternal hope. He is God in the flesh, the second person of the Holy Trinity, and our redeemer. Through Him, everything was created, and all will be redeemed. He is the way, the truth, and the life. Jesus lived the life that we could never live and then took the punishment that we all deserve. He did every bit of it so that we could have eternal life with God Himself.
When we commit to a life of faith in Jesus, our eternal destiny is sealed. We are promised that we will live with God forever in His Kingdom. Romans 6:23 states it clearly: “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our LORD” (NIV). This gift is freely available to all, no matter what you’ve done, where you are from, or what you currently believe. God is always willing to welcome all into His loving arms.
The world is a place tainted with sin. It surrounds us on all sides, tempting us to its ways. All that sin offers is death and eternal separation from God. The way of faith is different. We are granted freedom from the chains of sin and are free to accept the free gift of eternity that Jesus so freely gives.
In his letter to the Roman church, Paul describes the path to accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior: “If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is LORD,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved” (Romans 10:9, NIV). Jesus desires for us to secure our eternal hope in Him. Are you ready to walk the path He has chosen for you? At the end of that journey, your eternal hope awaits.
